Phones
Globalstar QUALCOMM GSP-2900 Fixed Phones are the ideal solution
for when you need satellite telephone service in a marine or other
extreme weather environment, or wherever you need Internet and e-mail
access in addition to voice service (optional data kit sold seperately).
For voice-only installed satellite telephone service, consider the
Globalstar FAU-200 Fixed Phone.
Installation Options
The Globalstar QUALCOMM GSP-2900 can be configured to provide a
single line of service to as many as five standard telephone jacks,
giving you convenient custom installation options. Or just plug
in a standard cordless phone to have ultimate flexibility. Because
the GSP-2900 phones generate a standard dial tone, you can use any
off-the-shelf FCC approved cordless phone, speakerphone, answering
machine, internet router (with optional data kit), or analog PBX
system.
Internet and e-mail access is available through any of the
GSP-2900 phones with the optional data kit. |
Globalstar GSP-2900 Fixed Phone Unit
With the standard GSP-2900 Fixed Phone, the antenna and fixed
phone unit are mounted in a convenient outdoor location with a
clear view of the sky for satellite calls. This is and excellent
choice for most land-based business and residential installations.
The GSP-2900 provides excellent reliability in all latitudes with
Globalstar coverage.

Globalstar GSP-2900-ST
"Stick" Fixed Phone Unit
Ideal for installation in maritime or other extreme weather environments,
the GSP-2900-ST fixed phone allows for mounting the sensitive phone
components in a protected area while mounting the antenna outside
(with a clear line of sight to the satellites). This allows for
operation in temperatures between -40F to 185F. The GSP-2900-ST
uses the same 22"H x 1"W stick antenna that comes with a GSP-2900,
but is modified for mounting. Cabling from the antenna to the phone
unit is available in 20, 30 and 55-foot lengths. All other features
are identical to the GSP-2900. This antenna configuration is best
for tropical or northern zone installations, such as Florida, the
Caribbean or Alaska. |

Globalstar GSP-2900-LP
"Low Profile" Fixed Phone Unit
Ideal for installation in maritime or other extreme weather environments,
the GSP-2900-LP fixed phone allows for mounting the sensitive phone
components in a protected area while mounting the antenna outside
(with a clear line of sight to the satellites). This allows for
operation in temperatures between -40F to 185F. The GSP-2900-LP
uses the same low-profile "teacup" antenna that comes with a Globalstar
Vehicle Kit. The low-profile antenna gives a cleaner look and more
installation options than the stick antenna. Cabling from the antenna
to the phone unit is available in 20, 30 and 55-foot lengths. This
antenna configuration is best for Temperate Zone installations. |
